The State Data Center Program
In 2005, the Alabama State Data Center network handled more than 14,700
requests. The statewide data center affiliate agencies provide a number
of products and services:
- Consult on data use.
- Handle requests for economic and demographic data.
- Process census data in machine-readable form and generate products
for distribution or sale.
- Carry out promotional activities with newsletters, press releases,
articles, presentations, and speeches.
- Maintain library facilities with reference materials and Census Bureau
reports and maps.
- Provide user training such as workshops on accessing and using census
data.
- Web-based informational products based on census data.
